Hi my names Steve ,i live in the south of france but i am British ..engineer by trade mostly access controll and cctv ..
In my younger days i lived in denmark where i worked for a company that at the time built the biggest wind turbines in the world,hence my interest ..i also own the company Windselect ltd .
I started this company because i wanted to do something to help our environment ,and i thought the best way is to help the little man ..ie all of us everyday folk ..but the prices were so high for an individual to become more self sufficient ,so i decided we should build our own at a price that people could afford and if they couldnt well we could help them there as well..
My aim is this year to be able to give away as many wind turbines and solar panels as possible to people who deserve or need them anywhere in the world.
And hopefully this blog will raise enough money to do this ..
I want the public to write in and tell me about people or places organisations.that could benefit from this ,i will then let you decide who gets what by voting for who you think should get our help..
You can help by buying something no matter how small .10%of all the profit will go towards a new project and you will decide where and what it is ..so come on lets get green ..steve g

We have al l seen the books,the cds,and downloads for sale ..How to make solar panels for $50..build your own wind turbine for under $200 WHY ..
There are many alternatives to building your own wind or solar power system ..now dont get me wrong, i am all for anyone building solar panels windturbines or whatever they want .Recycling is great for the environment and if you have .
1/The time
2/The money
3/The energy
4/The space
5/The tools
6/The ability /some people can cook some just cant ..
7/The money
and the list goes on .
I am not trying to knock the idea of buiding your own , the more the merrier.But here are some great alternatves for those who cant ..
As most people are aware a lot of goverments and local authorities are giveing out grants to people who decide to install solar panels and wind turbines ..but did you know in some countries they are actually giveing them away ..

Another route is a collective ,these are becomeing ever more popular..maybe you dont have the land or the money to have a wind turbine or solar panels you may simply live in a block of flats ..
What you can do ..
Get together with the tennants and the building owners ..share the cost ,and install solar panels on the buiding rooftop.or even mini turbines..Payback times have dropped dramaticaly in the last year ...i installed a combined solar and wind turbine system that has paid back in less than 2 years ...and every time the price of fuel increases, your payback time reduces by the same percentage as the rise ..and now its makeing me money .as all the excess goes straight back to the grid and they pay me for it ..
Friends and neighbours ..
A great way for everyone .
Maybe you or a friend/ neighbour, has land or a roof that can be used ..get together and make a co-operative. For larger projects make a company and get friends and neighbours to invest in it ..you would be surprised how little investment is needed to get started . for solar pv ,as little as £200/£300/.and as people see it grow others will soon get caught up in it and the project will expand .
